Deborah F. StanleyPresident, SUNY Oswego"We at SUNY Oswego are excited to host the Global Environmental Issues Olympiad. Last year's event was enormously successful with more than 600 participants from 54 countries and 35 states competing in science, art, creative writing and architectural design. It was also highly competitive, bringing the rigorous and imaginative thinking of some of the best young minds around the world to our campus. It was inspiring to see these young people directing their intellectual energy toward solving the daunting environmental challenges facing humankind. This year's Olympiad is even more ambitious in scope, and we hope to bring forth ideas and projects that ultimately will enhance the health and sustainability of our future."
