AWARDEES

Thanks to all of our participants in GENIUS Olympiad.

All participants were selected and deserved recognition. We hope that all students and supervisors went back home with something learned or experienced at GENIUS Olympiad to have a life long impact.

Judging Score Average Calculation

For GENIUS Olympiad finals, each project is evaluated by multiple judges. Since judges may score more strictly or more generously than others, raw scores are normalized before final rankings are calculated. This helps ensure that all students are evaluated as fairly as possible, regardless of which judges reviewed their project.

First, each judge’s scores are normalized based on that judge’s overall scoring pattern. This adjustment accounts for differences in judge scoring tendencies. After normalization, the normalized scores given to each project are averaged across all judges who evaluated that project.

Each project is judged in person by 4–10 judges, depending on the project category. In addition, the average of initial reviews to be a finalist is also included as a judging score with your in-person judging scores. Reviews were made by 3–6 judges, depending on the project category. Initial reviews focus primarily on the project's rigor and quality; in-person judging assesses rigor, quality, presentation, and the student's knowledge of the topic and the project.

Key Benefits of Normalization of Scores:

  1. Fairness: Removes bias against participants assigned to strict judges.
  2. Consistency: Standardizes scoring across different judges and rounds.
  3. Objectivity: Ensures that the final ranking reflects true performance quality.

We are proud to announce that we have managed to host 821 projects and 960 students through our virtual fair. 599 projects have been awarded to medals or certificates based on our award distribution policy under "Awards" tab.

  • We do not send individual responses to participants regarding their judging scores. All judging information is confidential, and detailed judging feedback will not be provided. Our judging scoring is detailed above.

All grand, gold, silver, and bronze winners in the science category should submit their research to International Journal of High School Research to get it peer-reviewed and published. For more information to submit: IJHighschoolResearch.org

2. Start a GENIUS Olympiad Club at Your School

Lead change. Inspire projects. Build a culture of sustainability and innovation.

Bring the spirit of GENIUS Olympiad to your school by starting a GENIUS Olympiad Club. This club gives students the opportunity to share their GENIUS experience, practice leadership, encourage project-based learning, and inspire others to develop projects focused on sustainability, science, innovation, and global impact.

A GENIUS Olympiad Club is more than a school activity. It is a high-impact leadership and learning opportunity where students use their talents, skills, and interests to address real-world environmental and social challenges.

What Does a GENIUS Olympiad Club Do?

A GENIUS Olympiad Club can help students:

  • Learn about GENIUS Olympiad categories and project requirements
  • Lead project development in science, art, AI, speech, entrepreneurship, robotics, music, coding, or short film disciplines
  • Encourage project-based learning focused on sustainability
  • Support students as they prepare and submit projects to GENIUS Olympiad
  • Build leadership, teamwork, communication, and organization skills
  • Promote environmental awareness and community engagement
  • Celebrate cultural exchange and global citizenship
  • Organize applications, deadlines, travel planning, and participation as a club

Why Start a Club?

Starting a GENIUS Olympiad Club helps create a school culture where students are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, and become change agents. The club can bring together students from different disciplines and interests, allowing them to collaborate through science, technology, engineering, art, writing, music, business, and environmental action.

Through the club, students can prepare stronger projects, mentor each other, share experiences, and travel together as a school team to GENIUS Olympiad.

Become a Change Agent

By creating a GENIUS Olympiad Club, you are helping your school become part of a global movement for sustainability, innovation, and youth leadership.

Start a GENIUS Olympiad Club at your school and inspire the next generation of changemakers. We will send up to ten T-shirts within the USA once you have members signed into your club in your first year. We can send T-shirts outside of the USA if shipping cost is covered.

3. Publish Your Research and Expand Its Impact

GENIUS Olympiad participants are encouraged to take their science projects beyond the competition by considering publication with the International Journal of High School Research (IJHSR).

Published since 2019, IJHSR is a leading high school research journal that showcases high-quality student research from around the world. The journal publishes work in all areas of science, including behavioral and social sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. IJHSR accepts both original research articles and literature review articles.

All manuscripts published by IJHSR are indexed internationally by EBSCO and Google Scholar, making student research searchable and accessible through many libraries around the world. IJHSR publishes monthly issues, offers rolling admissions with no fixed deadline, and provides open access to the public.

Publishing your research is a higher level of academic presentation that requires greater detail, stronger writing, and deeper analysis than a poster or oral presentation. Because of this, publication is often more highly valued and can help students further strengthen their academic profile while sharing their work with a wider scientific community.

As a special opportunity for GENIUS Olympiad participants, medal winners will receive a publication discount with IJHSR: Gold winners receive a 20% discount, Silver winners receive a 15% discount, and Bronze winners receive a 10% discount.

If your GENIUS Olympiad project includes strong research methods, meaningful findings, and a clear contribution to your field, you may consider preparing it as a manuscript for submission to IJHSR. This is an excellent opportunity to expand the impact of your project beyond the competition.
