Privacy Policy - Genius Olympiad Mobile

This Privacy Policy describes how the Genius Olympiad Mobile Application (the "App"), operated in conjunction with Terra Science and Education, collects, uses, and discloses information in relation to the Genius Olympiad event.

1. Overview and Public Access

The App provides both public and authenticated content. General information regarding the Genius Olympiad event, schedules, and public announcements are accessible to all users without authentication. Personal data is strictly confined to the user dashboard and is only accessible through a secure One-Time Password (OTP) system.

2. Information Collection and Roles

Access to authenticated data is determined by assigned roles. The App retrieves pre-existing information provided during the event registration process. The App does not allow direct user registration or profile modification.

Participants (Students): Displays name, Project ID, project title, judging session or group, registered trip details, travel information, and academic certificates.
Applicants (Account Holders): Displays a list of associated participants and provides read-only access to those participants' dashboards.
Staff: Displays operational tasks assigned to the specific staff member or their immediate team.
Administrators: Allows project ID searches to view dashboard data for verification purposes.

3. Access Control and Authentication

One-Time Password (OTP): Access to protected data is granted exclusively through an OTP provided to finalists and authorized personnel. This OTP may be entered manually or through external scanning.

Device Permissions: The App does not require or request access to the device camera, location services, or contacts. All scanning functions are handled by the device's native operating system outside the App environment.

4. Use of Data

Data displayed within the App is used solely for:

Facilitating event logistics.
Informing participants of travel and accommodation details.
Distributing participation and award certificates after the event.
Sending event-related reminders and a one-time post-event survey through notifications.

5. Data Storage and Security

The App uses secure local storage to maintain the authentication token for offline access to the dashboard. No sensitive identification documents are stored or displayed within the App. All data is transmitted through encrypted protocols.

6. Account Deletion and Data Retention

Because the App is a read-only companion to a physical event, users do not create accounts within the App itself. Data is managed through the central Genius Olympiad registration system. To request removal of your data, please contact the event organizers.
